Assassin's Creed: Revelations Officially Revealed

It turns out that all those indicators that lead us to believe that Assassin's Creed III was coming out this year were wrong. Instead we'll have a reunion of sorts as Altair, Ezio and Desmond will all be playable a in Assassin's Creed: Revelations.

It all started with a teaser site Ubisoft created for the game, linked through Facebook. Slowly but surely, fans unlocked pieces of teaser video that lead some to discover the location of the series next setting. Some even found the logo for the game hidden within the teaser site's code. See it below.

Today, GameInformer unveiled that all three main characters (Altair, Ezio and Desmond) will be playable. The games setting was also confirmed as being the city of Constantinople, now known as Istanbul. The multiplayer will return and will be customizable according to GameInformer. They also promise to reveal what was happening to Desmond at the end of Brotherhood. What's most interesting is the new "weapon and tool that changes the way you'll fight and traverse the world." I assume it's what we see in the first screenshot above and the cover below. If you take a close look it seems to resemble an eagle, the sharp hooked area being its beak. It also, obviously, looks like a hook, perhaps used to zipline around?
