Assassin's Creed: Revelations Details Hit The Web

The GI cover story of Assassin's Creed: Revelations has made its to the web thanks to Neogaf user, SolidSnakex. With it comes news of Ezio's hook-blade, the newly improved eagle vision and a slew of new changes for multiplayer. Let's dive right in:

  • Ezio will be searching for seals in the city of Constantinople. It will be split into 4 districts. The seals contain the memories of Altair which will allow you to play as Altair.
  • Ezio will be 50 years old. Shouldn't he be dead by then?
  • The hook-blade allows Ezio to zipline across the city, increasing navigation speed by 30% according to Ubisoft. The hook-blade can also be used to pull enemies into combos.
  • A new crafting system will be implemented that will allow Ezio to craft smoke bombs and more.
  •  The controls have been slightly changed; B, circle will be used for the hook-blade and Y, triangle will be used for projectile weapons and bombs.
  • Eagle vision is now Eagle sense. It allows the player to focus on characters and see their projected paths, allowing for a little more strategy.
  • Borgia Towers have been replaced with Assassin's Dens; meaning that towers under the influence of the enemy have to be taking over and then maintained under control by the player. After taking over a tower the guards will become neutral and cease to be hostile.
  •  As Ezio gains notoriety the towers will need to be defended. If you're too far away from a tower you can send one of your assassins to take it back from the attacking forces.
  • Assassins now level up to 15 instead of just 10.
  • Side-quests will now be random events as you explore the city as opposed to quests marked on your map.
  •  Desmond will be able to access lost memories thanks to something called the "Black Room", as part of the Animus.
  •  Desmond's gameplay sequences are puzzle moments propelled by the the story. They're described as the "manipulation and creation of geometry with the game world, Desmond seeks to reintegrate the splintered layers of his subconscious."
  • Multiplayer is coming back with a stronger focus on narrative and will include character customization and guilds/clans.
