Splinter Cell Classic Trilogy HD Comparison

Splinter Cell Classic Trilogy HD didn't look so good a few months ago but now it's looking pretty darn nice, especially in these comparison shots.

Not much else to say except that I'm pretty excited to replay through these games in HD. I wonder if they've changed the controls for the original to match Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory. That's something that makes it a little harder to play the original these days.

Looks like Ubisoft ported over the PC engine versions of these titles.

It's a great move too, since the PS2 versions of all three games were heavily modified ( shortened and simplified stages, inferior lighting mechanics, and in the first Splinter Cell; a slightly different -- and disjointed storyline ). The PC versions are essentially the original XBOX titles, which means larger levels, the way they were meant to be, and great light/shadow mechanics. Hopefully, the HD version will allow for saving anywhere ( the PC versions of Splinter Cell and Pandora Tomorrow were the only versions to have this feature before Splinter Cell Chaos Theory implemented it across all titles ).

  2. Wow, I didn't know the storyline was different. I played the Xbox versions back in the day. Yeah, Chaos Theory's quick save was awesome!
