Deus Ex Takes The Stealth Path In This Gameplay Trailer

The new gameplay trailer for the highly anticipated Deus Ex: Human Revolution displays the various paths and choices one can take in the beautiful world of Dues Ex.

The first part walks us through a more violent and confrontational approach to playing Human Revolution. Narrated by narrative game designer, Mary DeMarle, we see Adam Jensen stab and shoot his way to his objective. DeMarle points out that the game will never force the player to be lethal. Instead, players will have the choice to use lethal or non-lethal take-downs or avoid enemies altogether.

After disabling a guard, the player can pull the guard's body to a hiding place to prevent nearby sentries from being alerted. A feature that was missing from the latest Splinter Cell. As stealth players from the first game will remember, air vents can be used to hide from enemies and sneak into new areas as demonstrated in this trailer.

While the game is played in first-person, a third-person cover system has been implemented to help players scout their surroundings. It doesn't seem to be a game changing feature but it is a nice touch.
