On the wake of the PSN hacker attack comes another one, this time affecting Eidos and some of their websites. At least one hacker has spoken and claims that this splinter group is not part of Anonymous.
Eidos.com and Deusex.com were down this past Wednesday due to an attack from some hackers whose motives are still unclear-except to gain attention. Deusex.com was defaced with the message "Owned by Chippy1337", and was otherwise unusable by anyone visiting the site. The more negative affects of the hacks include the 350 resumes that "may have been accessed" as well as 25,000 email addresses that Eidos is certain were taken. Luckily, these email addresses are not linked to any other piece of identifying information.
Venusim, one of the hackers that was taking credit according to the defacement image above says that he is being framed by rival hackers (the ones who allegedly hacked Eidos' sites). It makes sense, after all why would you include your real name if you know you're doing something illegal? He also claims that this hacker is not a part of Anonymous, and has all ready leaked the email addresses and resumes. "The majority of the people who knew and participated in the hack are from Gnosis, the group responsible for hack of Gawker late last year, who have insisted they are not Anonymous," he said.
